Reporting to the Associate Director for Community and Student Engagement for University Life Space and Events, the Coordinator for Community and Student Engagement is responsible for the coordination of student-centered programming, as well as the customer service operations of the Student Union (Houston Hall) and the Arts Research and Culture (ARCH) Welcome Desks. The role is also part of a team that ensures continuous/consistent professional staff presence during all hours of the operation and as such are required to work a flexible schedule including some evening and weekend hours. In this capacity, the Coordinator determines which staff are to be notified dependent on the situational circumstances, concerns, emergencies, and potential crises. The Coordinator for Community and Student Engagement directly recruits, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates student and part time staff; additionally, provides support to the event operations/student union team. The Coordinator interacts with the campus community to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and will help to develop a student union which responds to the needs of the student body and campus community.
Bachelor’s Degree required with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Previous student center and/or student affairs experience preferred.
