Rev. William Gipson serves as Associate Vice Provost for Equity and Access. He oversees Penn’s six cultural resource centers: the Center for Hispanic Excellence: La Casa Latina; Greenfield Intercultural Center (GIC); Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Center; Makuu Black Student Center; Pan Asian American Community House (PAACH); and the Penn Women’s Center (PWC). Rev. Gipson also serves as Faculty Director at the W.E.B. Du Bois College House at Penn. He has worked at Penn since 1996, previously serving as University Chaplain and Special Advisor to the President. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and a master of Divinity degree from the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.
